Who flies higher?

This past week Emma asked me (very matter of factly), "Who flies higher, Santa or Jesus?" Of course, it was all I could do to keep my giggles stiffled because it struck me so off-guard. She definitely has a special love for both of these influential historical celebrities and expresses gratitude for them still in EVERY prayer (along with presents....and yes, that includes prayers on the food.) Anyway, my reply was, "Jesus, because he flies up to see the angels." At that point Emma replied, "Well, when I look up in the sky, sometimes I can't see Santa and his reindeer. I think he flies soooo high that he can see the angels too, mom." At that, I giggled, nodded and expressed that indeed Santa does fly super high, but Santa and his reindeer can't go into outer space, and Jesus can.

Of course I elaborated and went on providing proof that Santa's reindeer and space suits don't work out very well and Jesus doesn't even need one! That seemed to impress and provide enough evidence that Jesus has Santa beat on the flying gig.

The whole thing was hilarious!! :D Cutie patootie!

The angel picture was taken at our family Christmas Nativity play this year. The pictures of Emma in Santa's hat and antlers were captured at Emma's Christmas program at preschool and I had to throw in the picture of her note she personally wrote for Santa and the reindeer on Christmas Eve with the cookies, milk, and carrots. Yes, Emma has a battle wound on her nose from wrestling with Sophie in our "castle" tent and the milk is missing with the cookies and carrots in this picture.... ha ha ha
